ITI Neovision, the operator of Canal+ in Poland, has completed the acquisition of a 70% stake in Kino Swiat, the country’s leading film distributor.
As a result, Canal+ will gain access to over 2,000 hours of theatrical and TV movies, amounting to 1,200 productions.
The deal sees Tomasz Karczewski and Marcin Piasecki, who have until now owned Kino Swiat, retain a minority stake in the company and their places on the board.
The board will also have a number of new members.
They include Frederic Berardi, who is now Kino Swiat’s chairman of the board, along with Marta Palucka and Anna Limbach-Urun, who are both VPs.
